Mercedes De Los Santos is certified by thIMG_3100e Supreme Court of Florida as a Circuit Civil Mediator. She has served as a mediator for the State of Florida in the Miami-Dade District Office of the Judges of Compensation Claims enjoying a high success rate in the resolution of cases.

Mercedes brings 30 years of litigation experience in workers’ compensation to her mediation practice.  She was a partner at Miller, Kagan, Rodriguez and Silver defending compensation claims.  Subsequently she established her own firm representing injured workers, employers and self-insured funds. Mercedes is a past lecturer of the Workers’ Compensation Certification Forum and has served as faculty at the Section’s Trial Advocacy Workshop.

Her experience as both a defense and claimant’s counsel lends a unique perspective into the mediation process and a clear advantage in bringing both sides to compromise.  Mercedes has been personally involved in the resolution of thousands of cases both as a practitioner and mediator. This exposure has provided her with the knowledge required to tackle the ancillary issues which impact the outcome and rights of the parties in the unique and highly specialized field of Workers’ Compensation.  She is fluent in Spanish, facilitating mediations with Hispanic clients.
